INTERACTIVE COMPUTER KIOSK
Detail Design and Fabrication (DD&F) just completed an interactive computer kiosk for the Arizona Science Center. The kiosk has an industrial track ball and a built-in monitor enclosure with speakers.  This custom kiosk is one of many displays Detail Design and Fabrication (DD&F) created for the Solarville exhibit on display now at the Arizona Science Center in the APS Solar Gallery.  Come check it out!

BRANDED VIDEO CONFERENCE KIOSK
Detail Design and Fabrication (DD&F) has created branded face 2 face video conference kiosks by transforming this old damaged mall photo booth. The exterior of the photos booths were given a cosmetic face lift by re-imaging with custom designed graphics. In addition, the interior was completely redesigned by adding custom aluminum pieces that housed a new flat panel, speakers and state of the art communication equipment.

Since 2007, Detail Design and Fabrication (DD&F), has been the official sign and graphic partner of the Arizona Diamondbacks. DD&F was recently challenged to come up with a re-design to the traditional Plinko style game. KaChingKo was created, and is now the Arizona Diamondbacks newest in-game promotion.

DD&F started with design renderings, to refine the size and mechanical workings of the game. The D-Backs arrived at naming the project KaChingKo, and the project was released for production. Materials used for the game were steel, aluminum, lexan backer with a clear front cover and large format prints.

The portable game is on wheels, and is unique because of its size and electronic rotating center which is operated by an electric motor with a reduction gearbox and chain drive to rotate the 8-foot circle. The KaChingKo game uses six-inch-wide plastic pucks, which are dropped down into approximately 93 pins that redirect the puck in addition to the center rotating. The project took the DD&F team three weeks to design and create.

During an inning break of each D-backs home game, a KaChingKo contestant will be featured on the dbTV scoreboard while dropping a game piece down the prize board for a chance to win great prizes.

October 2009- Cory and Tom from Fox 10 Arizona Morning paid a visit to our design and fabrication studio. It was a nice break for the staff whom have been working hard on a few upcoming deadlines for Richard Petty Raceway at Phoenix International Raceway and Muhammad Ali Parkinson’s Center.

Cory jumped right into our production in full uniform with hood, eye protection and welding jacket to try some welding and grinding. He did pretty good for his first time. Cory, you can borrow the Valero anytime you need. We never realized it was such a fashion statement. Thanks FOX 10!!  Video clips and photos below:

September 2009– D-backs dedicated the broadcast wing of their press box in honor of Garagiola. Detail Design and Fabrication, Inc. (DD&F) was honored to be involved with the creation of this tribute.  Joe Garagiola Sr. has had a tremendous impact in baseball and in our community. See video below of its unveiling… Go Joe! Go D-backs!

DD&F Pit Crew

DD&F was invited by our friends at Phoenix International Raceway to compete in the Pit Crew Challenge. This was held at F1 Race Factory and was quite the site to see. Our team had a good overall time, but had some penalties for loose lug nuts. Next time–look out! This was great fun outside of the office. DD&F Team Excited About New Paint Booth!

Its done!  We have officially been in our new crib for one year.  To celebrate, our talented team found this awesome deal on a paint booth.  Its been much needed in our studio for some time now.  It just needed some clean up, fancy paint and graphics.  Now it fits right in and is as good as new.  This further helps our team control turnaround and quality of our custom fabrication.

Now, if we can only get Big Kahuna in there.  Ahh, maybe someday!  Come by and check out.  No cars painted yet,  I’m sure that’s coming!  Check out our installation video….

DD&F installed this fun interactive children’s environment. Kids can actually ride this (12 feet in the air) as if they are on a trapeze at the circus– Now Open, come see for yourself.

Our Master of Disaster (Shad Bruce) in action, testing this hand crank xylophone designed and created by DD&F as the prototype for Children’s Museum of Phoenix. This was a beginning of an amazing project and led us to many more ideas for the “Pit Stop”.
