Detail Design and Fabrication Completes Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center
Barrow’s Neurological Institute celebrated the grand opening of MAPC on December 3
PHOENIX (December 08, 2009) – Detail Design and Fabrication (DD&F) located in Phoenix, just recently completed interior imaging and donor signage for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center (MAPC) project at Barrow Neurological Institute. DD&F teamed with architects, Trinity Healthgroup, to transform the brand-new 9,100 square foot space in the Muhammad and Lonnie Ali Pavilion at the Barrow Neurological Institute. This brand-new space will allow MAPC to expand their services to patients providing them with the quality care they need.
The growth and success of the Center over the past year is due in part to the Celebrity Fight Night Foundation. DD&F’s created a special donor wall in honor of the Celebrity Fight Night Foundation, which is recognized as one of the nation’s elite charity events.
DD&F also created an incredible entry element for the center that showcases a timeline of Muhammad Ali’s career and life. The 90-foot curved wall has nine photos and images that are placed in a timeline format though out the wall. They were also in charge of the Lynn Diamond Balance Center wall area, the Grossman wall, and two custom 3-D torches that are 7 feet tall.
The interior imaging throughout the MAPC was created with glass panels with metal, vinyl letters, and lumicor panels. The amazing photos used for the interior imaging were taken by Howard Bingham, Dennis Skully and Richard Corman.
“It was such a privilege to be involved with such a professional team for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center,” stated DD&F owner Shad Bruce. We are very pleased with the final product.”
As a National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence, the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center (MAPC) at Barrow Neurological Institute provides diagnostic and treatment services, research, and education for those whose lives have been touched by Parkinson’s disease. In addition to clinical services, the Center also conducts extensive research in new medical and surgical treatments for Parkinson’s disease and related disorders.
The grand opening for the New Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center took place on December 3, to celebrate the future of healthcare for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. For more information on the MAPC please visit www.maprc.com
